Great Engine, Fantastic Deal! I purchased this engine from small engine surplus for $419.95+$65 shipping in April, 2010 to replace a blown up engine for a Scott's (John Deere Manufactured) mower which previously used a 31F707-0112 model briggs & stratton (17.5HP Intek). This engine was a perfect/exact drop in replacement as far as the electrical components, throttle linkages, and fuel lines are concerned; the most difficult part of the whole operation was hand-tapping the engine block mounts so that the original bolts from the mower could be threaded into the mount holes on the new engine. (But you could easily use a simple nut and bolt without tapping if you wanted to.) Love the engine! More powerful than my old engine, and it has the powered lubrication system (the lack of which contributed to me blowing up my previous engine) with an actual oil filter. When I would drain the oil from my old engine it looked like liquid mercury, there was so much worn metal suspended in it- so I think the oil filter adds a lot of value.
